Disc golfer wins championship after 247-foot birdie to force playoff

Professional disc golfer James Conrad won the championship after 247-foot shot forced playoff.

The 247-foot shot on the 18th hole gave Conrad the birdie he needed to force playoff against Paul McBeth in the Disc Golf World Championships.

Video footage from Disc Golf Pro Tour shows the crowd erupting into applause as Conrad nailed the shot in the tournament in Ogden, Utah.

Conrad went onto win the championship by defeating McBeth in the playoff.

He lifted the trophy in triumph, according to a recap of the final round on the tour’s website.

“I’m slightly in disbelief,” Conrad told the crowd, the recap said. “To be able to make that shot from over 200 feet on 18 — it still almost doesn’t feel real. I mean, I saw it go in but it’s still hard to even believe.”
